The taverna is popular both with tourists and locals for its traditional atmosphere and excellent food. It is situated right beside the small harbour where you can watch the fishing boats as you dine on the terrace.
Dishes on the menu are made from fresh local produce and include Sfakian specialties, locally caught fish, different kinds of local meat, and vegetarian dishes, accompanied by local open wines and other bottled Greek wines. Andreas’ wife, Evangelia, also makes the typical Sfakiani pie, which is a special pancake filled with soft cheese and topped with honey, and pancake filled with local wild spinach. Andreas’ moussaka is reputed to be the best in Crete!
